Peseiro has since the start of the 2023 NPFL season, visited two match venues.
Head coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles Jose Paseiro has said that he is impressed with the level of improvement in the country's top-flight league, although adding that further development in player facilities and welfare is needed.
The 62-year-old Portuguese was present in Akure on Sunday, as Sunshine Stars defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-0 in a week 7 fixture in the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Peseiro's visit to Akure was his second time at an NPFL match venue this season, as he had in week 6, visited the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, to watch Bendel Insurance and Gombe United.
NPFL is improving - Peseiro
Speaking after watching the duo of Udom Okerette and Samson Olasupo give Sunshine Stars their third win of the season, Peseiro praised the quality of the league while adding that more needed to be done.
“It’s a pleasure for me, to be in Akure, to see Sunshine Stars against Niger Tornadoes," he said to journalists in Akure, at full-time. "I saw the match, it is a good game, good quality, good players, good goals; the first goal and the second goal, with good management, with good assists in the game.
“Sunshine Stars are the first team I am seeing twice, I was at Ilorin to watch them play Kwara United last season, so this is my first time here (Akure), they have many good players, and the media are also important for the development of football.
"I came from Europe to know better about the people here, improve my capacity by having the best relationship with my players, the people, the fans also, the media, I respect everybody. It is a good impression, in my programme, in my goal, to help my job.
“We need to improve our league, our competitions, our formations, our facility, our support for media, our support for players, our orientation.
“Nigeria have over 200 million people that produced many players,” he said.
Bendel Insurance, Lobi Stars league NPFL groups
