Plateau United's Mees Palace are the first team through to the last four of the NPFL LaLiga Under-15s.
Umar Bala was the player of the day as Mees Palace sealed a deserved spot at the semifinal of the ongoing NPFL/LaLiga U-15 tournament.
Bala made it two back-to-back performances as he inspired the Plateau United youngsters to a comfortable 4-1 demolition of Enyimba in the quarterfinals.
He scored the winning goal to cap off a man-of-the-match display for the Plateau boys who continued their impressive outing at the well-organised LaLiga-backed event.
Plateau vs Enyimba: Match brief
A positive and dominant start from Jos-based Mees Palace saw Sumfat Julius open the scoring as early as the seventh minute for the Plateau boys.
But they failed to hold on to the lead as Enyimba hit back 14 minutes later through a well-taken goal from Chinemerem Eze.
United almost took the lead just before the break but were denied by the post as both sides headed into the break with nothing to separate them.
In the second half, Plateau’s Mees came out smoking hot and it did not take long for them to restore their lead.
A good team move saw Samuel Aputazie poke home a rebound effort to give Mees an early lead in the second 45 minutes.
Five minutes later, it was done and dusted as captain fantastic Kelvin Adeyemo netted an easy tap-in to give Mees a 3-1 advantage before man-of-the-match Bala added the icing on the cake with the fourth.
The goal was also the fourth of the campaign for the brilliant Bala, who received his man-of-the-match award moments after the game.
Mees Palace are one of the most exciting teams at the NPFL LaLiga U-15, scoring four goals in three matches in the tournament so far.
