Remo end winless run

The Sky Blues went into the game against United knowing only a win can keep alive the hope of a top three finish after putting an end to their run of four matches without a win.

With two games to the end of the regular season, the home side started brightly and dominated the opening minutes of the encounter with Seth Mayi at the heart of everything good.

Remo Stars have ended a run of four matches without a win.

Remo’s goalkeeper, Bankole Kayode was finally tested for the first time in the 20th minute and he was up to the task to keep his side in the game.

The Blues were back in control thereafter and it was no surprise that just before the break they got a chance to break the deadlock when they referee pointed to the spot with that man, Mayi, winning the penalty.

Junior stepped to the plate and converted expertly to give the home side the lead at the break.

In the second 45, Mayi continued from where he stopped but Kayode will be called upon again to help his side maintain their lead and he did not disappoint.

United tried their best to find the equaliser but it remained elusive with Remo holding on for the much-needed win.
