Aiming to make their maiden Zonal Qualifiers of the CAF Champions League worth it, Kampala Queens FC continue to get strong in the transfer market.
The FUFA Women's Super League champions have added super striker Shakirah Nyinagahirwa from Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC on a short-term six-month loan contract.
"Kampala Queens gladly announces that the club has agreed with Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC on the loan transfer of Shakirah Nyinagahirwa," the club confirmed on their official accounts.
Nyinagahirwa, who is only 18, was the 2022/23 Women's Super League Most Valuable Player and the topscorer.
This was after she bagged 12 goals and added seven assists, edging Resty Nanziri to the gong.
"I'm so happy to be a queen, it's an opportunity to try and help the team qualify for the champions league and win the CECAFA championship," Nyinagahirwa spoke to the club upon penning down her contract.
"I did well with my former team last season but now, I have to work harder to make sure I perform even better, together with my new teammates."
The CAF CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers are slated for August this year in Uganda.
Nyinagahirwa is currently the skipper of the Uganda U-18 team, that is preparing for the U-18 CECAFA Women's championship.
She is set to compete with the likes of Shamirah Nalugya, Margaret Kunihira, Fazila Ikwaput, Hasifah Nassuna among others for a starting berth at Kampala Queens.
