The Sugar Millers are bidding to win their maiden league title.

Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Salim Babu says his side can handle the demands of an intense Football Kenya Federation  Premier League (FKFPL) title race.

The Sugar Millers are placed third on the standings with four points separating them from log leaders Tusker FC, meaning chances of winning their maiden title are still bright.

A congested fixture schedule and injuries have seen Nzoia endure a demanding season, but Babu feels they have mastered handling the pressure.

"We know how to deal with pressure. We don't want to look at how opponents are performing as we just want to handle our matches, get positive results, and see where we will be when the season ends," he said.

Meanwhile, Babu is optimistic that he will have all his injured players back in their upcoming match against Kariobangi Sharks.

"It's good we will be resting the coming weekend before we play Kariobangi Sharks at home. By the time we play them, we hope our three key players who are sidelined with injuries will have recovered. It should be an easy win for us at home," he added.

Nzoia will be coming off a confidence-boosting victory against Kakamega Homeboyz, and Babu is confident of getting three points in the match.

"I know that the game will be easy as I don't expect the Kariobangi Sharks to trouble us. We will win that game," he noted.

Nzoia are sitting third on the table with 60 points, while Kariobangi Sharks are in 11th position with 37 points from 30 matches played so far this season.
