Chelsea's superstar midfielder Cole Palmer has been named the Premier League Young Player of the Season.

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has been named the Premier League Young Player of the Year, pipping the likes of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Arsenal's Bukayo Saka to the award.

Palmer joined Chelsea from the Premier League champions last summer, and he had been a revelation.

Palmer's stellar season

The 22-year-old left-footed dynamo has been the shining light in a gloomy Chelsea season. Signed from Manchester City for a sizable €47 million fee, per TransferMarkt, his acquisition came with a huge question mark, given his limited number of Premier League appearances.

However, Palmer set the record straight from his first Chelsea start against Brighton, setting up Nicolas Jackson to score in the 1-0 triumph.

Palmer did not slow down after that game, and he has gone on to rack up a remarkable 22 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League for the Blues.

Palmer’s goals and assists have won Chelsea a whopping 15 points this season, and he almost single-handedly dragged Chelsea into Europa League contention, despite the abysmal start to the season.

Palmer beat Haaland, Saka, Phil Foden, Alexander Isak, William Saliba, and Destiny Udogie to the award.

The Chelsea youngster is the latest inductee into the Premier League Young Player of the Season class, after Trent Alexander Arnold (2019/20), Phil Foden (2020/21, 2021/22) and Erling Haaland (2022/23).
