The Flying Eagles defeated the Uganda Hippos 1-0 in the quarter-final of the tournament at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia on Thursday.

Speaking after the game, Ogwuche expressed his delight at the victory, saying "It is a great feeling to win.”
“It was our dream from the start of the tournament to get the World Cup ticket and now we're looking forward to taking the trophy home."
Abel was named the TotalEnergies Man of the Match for his outstanding performance in the game. He and his teammates put in a strong performance to secure the victory, and Abel was quick to highlight the importance of their win.
"We had to secure our place in the World Cup. That's why we all put in a strong performance to win," he said.
The Flying Eagles took the lead in the first half when Uganda's Ibrahim Juma scored an own goal, and despite some tense moments in the second half, Nigeria held on to secure their place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
With their place in the World Cup secured, the Flying Eagles’ next game will be a tough challenge, but Nigerians will hope to build on their performance against Uganda and take one step closer to lifting the trophy.
Nigeria will face the winner between The Gambia and South Sudan in the semi-finals on Monday, 6 March at the Cairo International Stadium at 19h00 local time (17h00 GMT).
