The development comes at a time when former Uganda Cranes captain Denis Onyango, a legend at the club, is reportedly open to options as his current contract at the club is set to expire this month.

Money-rich Saudi Arabia clubs are reportedly preparing to sign at least five players from South Africa champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

According to South African publication iDiski Times, Saudi Arabia clubs closely monitored players' performance in the CAF Champions League, where the Brazilians were eliminated in the semi-finals by Wydad Athletic Club on away goal rule.

"Bafana Bafana stars Themba' Mshishi' Zwane, Thapelo Morena and Namibian international striker Peter Shalulile are just some of the players that Saudi Arabian clubs are targeting," iDiski Times reported.

It is also understood that the Confederation of Africa Football, headed by Patrice Motsepe, also the owner of Mamelodi Sundowns, recently signed a partnership deal with Saudi Arabia bosses.

Saudi giants are on a big-spending spree following the acquisition of football-prized asset Cristiano Ronaldo last year.

In the current transfer window, Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema joined Al Ittihad from Real Madrid. Compatriot Ngolo Kante also secured a transfer from Chelsea to Al Ittihad.

Several other top stars worldwide are also linked to big-money moves to Saudi Arabia.
