The Sugar Millers has confirmed the player will be available for selection on Monday.

Industrious second tier outfit Mara Sugar have been handed a huge reprieve as central defender Joseph Okwenda shook of a two-month injury layoff and is now available for selection.

Okwenda has been absent since April this year with an ankle injury picked up while in a clash against Shabana FC.

Mara Sugar has confirmed the player will be available when they take on Silibwet Leons in a National Super League match on Monday.

"Joseph Okwenda is back. Fully recovered from the ankle injury that has kept him on the sideline," the club said.

"Okwenda's rehabilitation exercises linger on as He will be rendered ready for selection as we will face Silibwet FC tomorrow(Monday)."

Mara Sugar has felt Okwenda's absence during his extended recovery period, as his commanding presence and defensive prowess were sorely missed.

The team struggled to maintain their defensive stability without the experienced center-back, conceding more goals and struggling to secure positive results.

However, his return brings the club a renewed sense of confidence and optimism as they look to turn their fortunes around.

His commanding aerial presence, strong tackling, and ability to read the game will bolster Mara Sugar's defensive line.

Moreover, Okwenda's leadership qualities and experience will prove invaluable in guiding the team through challenging moments on the field.

Silibwet Leons, who currently sit in 17th place on the  National Super League table, will have to contend with an even stronger Mara Sugar side.

With Okwenda's return, the match promises to be an intense battle between two competitive teams vying for crucial points.

Mara Sugar hopes to capitalize on their renewed defensive strength and clinch a vital victory to boost their standing in the league.

Currently placed fourth in the standings, Mara Sugar takes on Silibwet Leons away at Silibwet Green Stadium as they continue their quest for promotion to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
