The forward scored in either half as Al Duhail SC won away from home.
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga was on target twice as Al Duhail SC claimed a 3-1 Qatar Stars League victory over Qatar SC on Sunday.
The striker - who was silenced in their previous game - took only ten minutes to break the deadlock – with an assist from Ferjani Sassi - when he fired Al Duhail ahead against the home side.
The former Thika United striker - who was embroiled in a land tussle back at home - scored the second goal in the 79th minute after Federico Fernandez provided him with an assist.
The third goal for Al Duhail was registered in the 90th minute courtesy of Khaled Mohammed’s effort. However, Badr Benoun’s penalty in the eighth minute of added time after regulation time denied Olunga’s side a clean sheet.
Al Duhail head coach Hernan Crespo praised his players’ performances and promised that they would be even better in the next games.
"Our team conducted a good game with a distinguished performance that was characterized by fieriness, strength, and rhythm," Crespo said in his post-match reaction, as quoted by the club’s website.
"This clearly means that we have developed a lot recently on the physical level, following much suffering and missing players due to injuries and illness.
"The victory has pushed our spirit to the roof for the coming games. We shall continue working this week to perform even better."
Meanwhile, Olunga’s goals come ahead of Kenya’s friendly match against Iran in Tehran on March 28. The former Gor Mahia striker is expected to lead the Harambee Stars’ frontline after he was selected in the provisional squad named by head coach Engin Firat.
