The Harambee Stars skipper has 11 league goals this season.

Kenyan international Michael Olunga extended his rich vein of form after netting his 11th league goal of the season for Al Duhail in the 3-1 win over Al Arabi while compatriot Daniel Anyembe featured for Viborg.

Michael Olunga

The former Gor Mahia forward netted his 13th goal in the last 14 games in all competitions as Al Duhail thumped Al Arabi 3-1 in a Qatar Stars League top-of-the-table clash.

The strike took Olunga’s league tally to 11, two more than his closest challengers Omar Al Somah, Gelson Dala, and Yohan Boli who are all tied on nine goals.

Duhail started the clash like a house on fire as they needed just seven minutes to break the deadlock through Tae-Hee Nam after Ferjani Sassi put the ball on a plate for him.

Al Arabi, which was home to former Harambee Stars skipper Dennis Oliech steadied their ship and restored parity in the 25th minute through Hamid Ismaeil.

Duhail however went into the break with the lead after Almoez Ali netted in the 37th minute as he fired the ball from a tight angle on the right-hand side of the box.

Omar Al Somah was handed his marching orders in the 78th minute as Al Arabi were reduced to 10 men courtesy of quick-fire yellow cards in the space of a minute.

Olunga capitalized on Duhail having a numerical advantage as he netted in the second minute of added time, going on a run from the halfway line to put his name on the score sheet and hand Duhail the empathic win.

Daniel Anyembe

The Kenyan right-back was handed a start by Viborg FF as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Aalborg in the Danish Cup quarter-finals first leg.

Following a barren first half, Aalborg turned on the style in the closing stanza with Louka Prip grabbing a brace after netting in the 51st and 56th minute.

Anyembe was withdrawn in the 74th minute as Oliver Bundgaard came on in his place but Aalborg held on for the massive advantage ahead of the second leg.
