Tusker kept their dream of retaining the league alive with a slim win over Police FC.
Gor Mahia’s Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title charge was hit by yet another setback after a 2-2 draw against Posta Rangers.
Although the expectations of K’Ogalo – who threw away a 2-0 lead – did not go as expected, their dependable goalscorer Benson Omala had another fruitful day on the pitch.
Omala scored a brace to take his tally to 24 goals, which incredibly increased his chances of winning the Golden Boot award.
Rangers, who have always frustrated Gor Mahia, especially under coach John Kamau, scored through Calvin Odongo before an own goal by Gad Mathews helped them earn a vital point at Nyayo Stadium.
With the result, Gor Mahia are now feeling more pressure as only two points separate them from second-placed Tusker. To make matters worse for the record champions, the reigning champions have a game in hand.
