Kakamega Homeboyz' custodian Farouk Shikalo has praised his side's mental strength after their romping win over Kariobangi Sharks in the FKF Cup quarter-final last weekend.
Shikalo was on form, saving a penalty from Tyson Otieno when the side were 5-1 up, denting any slight hopes of a Sharks comeback.

Former Mtibwa Sugar and Yanga goalkeeper has been linked with a move to the club.
“It was a moment of pressure. I knew that had Sharks netted the penalty, they would have had a chance to get back into the game, so I put myself in a position to try and help the team by preventing that from happening,” Shikalo said.
“The game was tough. We came mentally prepared because we want to go as far as we can in this competition. I am happy with the mental resilience we showed today.”
Born in Buret, Kericho County, Shikalo started his career with Premier League side Muhoroni Youth. He featured for Muhoroni for one season before he moved to sign for Ushuru FC, formerly Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
