Formerly run by majority shareholder Benjamin Nyakuni, the Caterpillars revealed a new organogram which will see the club run by club president and Chief Executive Officer under the supervision of a board of directors.

Onduparaka FC has embarked on a journey of returning to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League as soon as possible after announcing wholesome structural changes at the club.

Formerly run by majority shareholder Benjamin Nyakuni, the Caterpillars revealed a new organogram which will see the club run by club president and Chief Executive Officer under the supervision of a board of directors.

The Arua-based side has now confirmed the appointment of Afeti Anthony as the new club president, replacing Benjamin Nyakuni, who has held the role since the club’s inception.

“We have a new President, Mr Afeti Anthony is our new club President,” the club tweeted.

“Replacing Mr Benjamin Nyakuni, who gracefully held the position since our inception. Previously, Tony also worked as our CEO and operations manager.”

Afeti left Onduparaka to join rivals Arua Hill FC in 2020, which played in the big league at the time.

The Leopards gained promotion, but Afeti left his role at the club in January after two seasons. Pius Bamwenge, a former CEO at Onduparaka FC and Maroons FC, replaced him.

The Caterpillars will be hoping that the new structure helps the team earn promotion again ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The other departments include the Stadium manager, Finance, and communication/public relations.

The technical team, welfare manager, backroom staff, fans and the general public/well-wishers.

The Caterpillars had the most vibrant, exciting fans for the six seasons in the top flight, especially during the first three seasons in the league.

However, that later went up in smoke as the club suffered financial hiccups and a massive player exodus.
