Onduparaka was relegated from the Uganda Premier League after seven years.
Onduparaka has hit back at FUFA President Moses Magogo after he claimed that their downfall is due to governance challenges and hooliganism.
The Caterpillars were the first team to confirm their relegation from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after losing to Maroons last week.
Magogo, via a Tweet, noted the euphoria that was elicited by the arrival of Onduparaka in the national football scene around and then went on to list what he believed led to their relegation.
“Onduparaka is a great club and started on a great note of involving fans. Every person from West Nile wherever they were felt attached to this club,” he noted before adding that “problems when they were disconnected from fans, then followed governance challenges and hooliganism which all had effects.”
Rebuttal
The comments have rubbed the club hierarchy the wrong way, especially after the two sides' bitter relations in recent times.
“Constantly picking up where we did not do enough while we joined and left in a league system that moved from Ranked to Unranked and still struggles to tame boardroom fixes must really be one for your Legacy and Pride... Give us a break Boss, Will You,” the club replied.
It’s yet to be known whether FUFA will take disciplinary actions against the club for such comments, something they’ve done in recent times by slapping fines.
