Southampton let it slip late in the game in the game as Wolves handed them their 15th loss of the season.
Southampton led for a huge chunk of the game against 10-men Wolverhampton, only to let it slip, conceding twice late on to lose 2-0.
Onuachu made his home debut at St. Mary's Stadium as Southampton hosted Wolves in their attempt to climb out of the bottom of the table. It was all going according to plan for the Saints, who played against ten men for over two-thirds of the game, but two goals in the last 20 minutes of the game meant their rut continued.
Southampton went ahead in the 24th minute of the game thanks to a strike from Carlos Alcaraz, and the Saints received a further advantage when Lemina was set off in the 27th minute. However, and own-goal in the 72nd minute from Jan Bednarek made the game 1-1, before Joao Gomes completed the comeback in the 87th minute of the game.

The defeat kept Nathan Jones' side in last place in the Premier League, while the wolves moved up to 15th, five points clear of the drop zone and eight points clear of bottom-placed Southampton.
How it happened
Southampton started like a team looking to right all wrongs, and pick up their first victory in three games, ergo starting their climb from the bottom.
Romain Perraud came close to putting the home side ahead early on, But Craig Dawson was present to block his attempt. The saints would not be denied any longer when Carlos Alcaraz was not immediately closed down after his first attempt was blocked, driving a low shot that came off the post and beating Jose Sa in goal for Wolves.
It went from bad to worse for Julien Lopetegui's side when Mario Lemina was shown a second yellow card for dissent. Southampton continued to dominate proceedings, and Kamaldeen Sulaiman thought he doubled the home side’s advantage, but Jose Sa kept his team in the game.

Wolves went all out in the final 30 minutes of the game, and the equaliser came in the most unfortunate of circumstances for Southampton when an Adama Traore strike came off Jan Bednarek to make a save impossible for Gavin Bazunu. Wolves would go on to condemn the hosts to more heartache when new boy Joao Gomes fired his side ahead late in the game, to the dismay of the packed Saint Mary's.
A home debut to forget for Onuachu
Onuachu started the game and was on the pitch for 74 minutes before he was substituted for Che Adams. He was a striking pair with a fellow West African, the Ghanaian, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and the combination did not manage to yield a goal for the defeated saints.
