In his extensive international career, Onyango collaborated with both Basena and Kajoba during his tenure as the Uganda Cranes’ goalkeeper and captain.

Former Uganda Cranes captain, Dennis Onyango, has expressed his support for the coaching partnership of Moses Basena and Fred Kajoba at Tanzanian club, Ihefu SC.

Now at Mamelodi Sundowns, Onyango sees great potential in the pair, believing they possess the right qualities for a triumphant tenure in Tanzania.

Onyango conveyed his sentiments on Twitter, writing: “Best of luck to ex-Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba, who’s now with Ihefu SC in Tanzania as the assistant and goalkeeping coach.”

“I’m confident that Kajoba and Moses Basena will achieve great heights. Wishing you both success.”

In his extensive international career, Onyango collaborated with both Basena and Kajoba during his tenure as the Uganda Cranes’ goalkeeper and captain.

Following the recent dismissal of head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic by FUFA, the entire technical team, including Basena and Kajoba who held the roles of assistant and goalkeeper coaches, were let go.

Ihefu SC formally announced Basena’s induction on Monday. After Kajoba’s Monday night journey to Tanzania, his appointment is anticipated to be finalized soon.

Basena has a rich management history with Ugandan teams such as URA FC, KCCA FC, UPDF FC, SC Villa, and Rwanda’s Sunrise FC.

Similarly, Kajoba has had leadership roles with Ugandan Premier League victors Vipers SC and also with Soltilo Bright Stars FC.
