Despite receiving a red card after only 15 minutes, Galatasaray rallied to claim a nervy away win that maintains their unbeaten run in the league after 14 games, keeping them top of the table with 38 points, six ahead of Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce side, who recently lost to Besiktas.

Osimhen was on hand to score Galatasaray’s second goal after Yunus Akgun had given them the lead and before Barıs Alper Yılmaz scored what proved to be the winner for the league leaders.

Metehan Baltacı's 15th-minute red card for a professional handball put the Yellow and Reds on the back foot early on and Sivasspor capitalised on their advantage, with Garry Rodrigues opening the scoring in the 25th minute.

However, Galatasaray responded swiftly as Yunus Akgün levelled the game 11 minutes later before Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen proved decisive, winning and converting a first half stoppage-time penalty to give his side the lead before the break.

Osimhen’s strike from the spot marked his seventh goal and third assist in nine league appearances this season.

Yılmaz extended Galatasaray’s advantage with a goal in the 53rd minute, and even though Sivasspor’s Bekir Boke pulled one back in stoppage time, it was too little, too late. The victory keeps Galatasaray atop the Super Lig standings with 38 points from 14 matches.
