The Kasasiro Boys have huffed and puffed in this campaign, failing to capitalize on a few occasions in the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League to challenge Vipers and SC Villa head-on for the title.

Seasoned sports journalist and marketing guru Aldrine Nsubuga is a sworn KCCA FC fan that, makes it a bitter pill to swallow whenever his side falls short as traditional rivals in SC Villa prosper, as is the case this season.

The Kasasiro Boys have huffed and puffed in this campaign, failing to capitalize on a few occasions in the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League to challenge Vipers and SC Villa head-on for the title.

Aldrine Nsubuga says ahead of KCCA FC is an SC Villa team that deserves the title because of its consistency all season.

“I see people saying that Villa is where they are by accident which is wrong, even before the final game; if you ask me, I will tell you they deserve to win the league,” he noted.

“Villa has been more consistent; they’ve won three more games than KCCA FC and Vipers SC going into the final game; they have shown propensity, not forgetting their pedigree.”

In November 2022, following crowd trouble against Wakiso Giants, the record league champions pleaded guilty and were docked two points and two goals.

A five-home league game stadium ban, was also imposed, forcing them to play in Lira, where they won four of the five games, and Nsubuga says they couldn’t be more deserving than KCCA FC.

“Remember, they played five games away from home in Lira without fans, and they did well; they were also docked points of which, if they hadn’t, they’d be champions already,” Nsubuga stated.

“So, if they win it, I will be so hurt as a KCCA FC fan, but from what I have seen, KCCA FC doesn’t deserve the title; we’ve had too many chances but failed to come through," he added.

With the Joogos on the verge of winning their first league title in 17 seasons, Aldrine Nsubuga, the StarTimes Vice President, will be hoping for a more enormous, vibrant Villa fanbase which brings along the excitement and passion when SC Villa are in action.
