The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, has warned Nigerian athletes going to the Olympics that they have no excuse to fail at the biggest sports showpiece.
Enoh highlighted the government's unwavering commitment, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration approved the entirety of the Olympic budget.

He emphasized that this full support places the responsibility on the athletes to deliver exceptional performances.

Ogun State rewards Tobi Amusan
Dapo Abiodun rewarded athletes who won gold medals at the African Games with a cash prize of N500,000 each, with silver and bronze medal winners receiving N300,000 and N250,000 respectively.
"We have no excuse to fail, The President has approved the entire budget, and it is now up to us to reciprocate this goodwill by making the nation proud. Expectations are high, and I have faith in the abilities of our athletes," he said.
Nigeria will be well-represented at the Games with 87 athletes competing across 12 different sports.
