Onuachu moved from FC Edebei, Ogun State, to FC Midtylland in Denmark in 2012. He then renewed his contract with the club for another three years in 2015. During his seven years with the club, Onuachu netted 74 goals in 181 appearances. He also contributed to two league titles and a cup victory.

Onuachu was then sent on loan to Jutland club Vejle BK. He played 13 matches and recorded five goals in the 13 games.
