Pep Guardiola beats Alex Ferguson and Jurgen Klopp to win most influential coach award

Manchester City's treble-winning coach has been named the most influential coach of the last 25 years.

Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has been voted the most influential coach in the last 25 years.

The Spanish tactician beat former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, ex-Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, and Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp to clinch the award, according to a survey by Livescore

Pep Guardiola led Manchester City to a historic clean sweep of the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League - becoming only the second manager in English footballing history to win a treble after Sir Alex Ferguson, who guided Manchester United to the feat in 1999.

Guardiola tops Klopp and Wenger in most influential coach list

According to the report by Livescore, Pep Guardiola got the majority of the votes (52%), closely followed by ex-Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson, who pulled 50%.

Legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger came in third position with 39%. Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had 38% of the votes, while Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp received 32% of the total votes. 

Klopp and Pep Guardiola will face off when Liverpool head to the Etihad to face Manchester City in a top-of-the-table clash. 

The game promises to test the tactical prowess of both managers, and a win for Liverpool will see them top Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp has beaten Pep Guardiola on more occasions (winning 46%), with Pep Guardiola winning 35% of their encounters.
