The Pilsner Uganda Premier League Awards are back with what promises a glamorous grand crowning gala for the cream of the 2023/24 campaign, which was capped with SC Villa winning a historic 17th championship.
The creme de la creme will be rewarded in glam and flamboyance at a dinner that will be hosted at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel this Saturday.
The most coveted award, the Player of the Season, will witness five players vie to oust Vipers SC captain Milton Karisa, who got crowned in the preceding awards (2022/23).
Villa's duo of Patrick Jonah Kakande and Ronald Ssekiganda will each look to fend off opposition from KCCA FC forward Muhammad Shaban, Kitara's lead marksman Denis Omedi and BUL’s rock-solid defender Ronald Otti.

Meanwhile, for Coach of the Season, Villa gaffer Dusan Stojanovic, who guided the side to their first league title in 20 years, face off with youthful Kitara coach Brian Ssenyondo and KCCA FC’s versed tactician Abdallah Mubiru.

The Young Player of the Season award will season Wakiso Giants (now at Vipers) starlet Kenneth Kimera battle with KCCA attacker Usama Arafat Kiiza and Villa's Patrick Kakande, who has double nomination.

Ronald Ssekiganda (SC Villa), who is also nominated on two occasions, will wrestle with KCCA’s Joel Sserunjogi and Maroons FC‘s playmaker Abraham Tusubira Kakensa for Midfielder of the Season award.
Meanwhile, Ronald Otti (BUL), Joseph Dhata (NEC FC) and Kenneth Semakula (SC Villa) will vie for the Defender of the Season award.

For Goalkeeper of the Season, BUL's Tom Ikara, will hope to clinch the award off competitors Hannington Ssebwalunyo of Maroons and Kitara's Crispus Kusiima.

Where there's casting of a vote, the Public Online Vote will carry 40% while the Expert Panel will total up the larger 60%.
