Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino have parted company despite the Argentine guiding the Blues to a sixth-place finish in the league.
Shocking news coming out of Stamford Bridge has confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino has left his position as Head coach of the West London club.
Pulse Sport earlier reported that Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino mutually agreed to part ways, with the Argentine coach ending his tenure after just one season of his original two-year contract.
The decision is a rather strange one, seeing that only two days ago, Pochettino steered Chelsea to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League despite enduring an injury-ravished season.
Pochettino joins a long list of Chelsea bosses that have been fired in the recent past - Graham Potter, Thomas Tuchel, Frank Lampard, and Antonio Conte.
What went wrong for Pochettino at Chelsea
Despite Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali's significant investment and ambitious plans for the club, results during the 2023/2024 season failed to reflect this commitment.
This article reflects on some of the most significant defeats suffered by Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino and might have influenced the club's decision to part ways with the former Tottenham boss.
6. Arsenal 5 vs Chelsea 0: (April 23rd)
Arsenal thrashed London rivals Chelsea 5-0, taking all three points as Mikel Arteta and his team fought hard to remain at the top of the table.
Even though the Gunners eventually fell short in the end, finishing two points behind City but this defeat left a sour taste in the mouth of Chelsea supporters and owners.
Goals from Leandro Trossard and two apiece from Ben White and former Blue Kai Havertz condemned Chelsea to their biggest defeat of the season.
5. Chelsea 2 vs Wolves 4: (Feb 4th)
Chelsea's vulnerabilities were displayed at Stamford Bridge, during a 4-2 defeat to Wolves. Matheus Cunha hit a hat-trick as the Blue's defensive solidity under Mauricio Pochettino was called into question.
This loss marked the second occasion within a week that Chelsea had conceded four goals, following their 4-1 defeat to Liverpool just days earlier. The back-to-back heavy defeats intensified pressure on Pochettino as questions arose about his ability to shore up Chelsea's defense and steer the team back to winning ways.

In one of the most significant setbacks for Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea suffered a resounding 4-1 defeat against Liverpool. The match saw Diogo Jota and Conor Bradley scoring for Liverpool.
Chelsea were run ragged by Liverpool, and even Darwin Nunez hit the post with a penalty and several near misses. Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool continued to dominate, with Dominik Szoboszlai adding a third goal.

A late strike from Anthony Gordon sealed a comprehensive victory for the Magpies.
2. Chelsea 0 vs Brentford 2: (Oct 28th)
Mauricio Pochettino's team suffered another major setback with a 2-0 defeat to Brentford. Chelsea started with a promising display when Noni Madueke hit the crossbar.

Goals from Ethan Pinnock (58th minutes) and Bryan Mbeumo (90+6 minutes) condemned Chelsea to another defeat at Stamford Bridge.
1. West Ham 3 vs Chelsea 1 ( Aug 20th)
In the early days of Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino, the Blues suffered a 3-1 loss to West Ham at the London Stadium.
The match was marked by an impressive start from the Hammers, with £30 million summer signing James Ward-Prowse making an immediate impact on his debut by providing an assist within the first seven minutes.
Despite playing with a man advantage, the Blues couldn't convert their chances. A Michail Antonio goal and a late penalty by Lucas Paqueta sealed victory for the Hammers.
Now that Pochettino has been fired, it remains to be seen if Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi or Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel will return as Chelsea's head coach.
