Five months into Potter's tenure, Chelsea has been eliminated from the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, positioned in an unfamiliar place of 10th in the English Premier League, and on the verge of exiting the Champions League.

Pressure is mounting on Chelsea manager Graham Potter every day that goes by because the team is underperforming.

Five months into Potter's tenure, Chelsea has been eliminated from the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, positioned in an unfamiliar place of 10th in the English Premier League, and on the verge of exiting the Champions League.

“The challenge for me is, 'OK, how do I conduct myself?' That is what I always turn around to,” Potter told Sky Sports.

“The higher you go, the more pressure you have on how you are as a person, but I want to succeed here,” he added.

Chelsea has only registered two wins in 14 games. They lost their previous league game 1-0 to bottom-side Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

As if that was not enough, they went ahead and lost their Champions League Round of 16 first leg 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund in Germany on Tuesday.

They will return to action on Sunday to take on rivals Tottenham in the London Derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

There is growing concern from the Chelsea faithful about Potter's attitude, with many criticizing him for not caring about their club.

“There is this nonsense that I do not care. Where does that come from? Where is your evidence on that?” he pondered.

“If you go to work, and somebody is swearing abuse at you, it is not going to be pleasant. You can answer it two ways,” Potter explained.

“I could say I do not care, but you know I am lying. Everyone cares about what people think because we are hardwired to be socially connected.”

“If people think you can just go from the ninth tier of English football via the fourth tier of Swedish football and climb your way up the pyramid and end up here with an uncaring, unpassionate, and unemotional personality, then maybe they should try it themselves and see how they get on.”

Potter was brought in as Thomas Tuchel's successor after doing well with mid-table side Brighton.

Flashback to the previous owner Roman Abramovich and how Potter is performing, and there is no doubt that he would have already been sacked.

However, with the new project at Chelsea by the new owner Todd Boehly, Potter seems to be a project himself beside the players, and he has all the time in the world to turn things around, especially starting next season.

But unless otherwise, they are likely to miss out on a place in the Champions League next season, given that they are on 31 points and 11 points behind fourth-placed Spurs, who are on 42 points.
