Chelsea co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly's mercy has kept manager Graham Potter in the role this far, not the results, with the latter admitting he could soon run out of time.

Chelsea is seven months into the new ownership that sacked Thomas Tuchel in September and replaced him with Potter.

The English man is part of their long-term project depending on the vast investment made within the shortest period.

However, the former Brighton head coach is afraid that his bosses could run out of patience with him, given that results are continuously failing to come his way.

"If results are not good enough, which they are not at the moment, you can not rely on support forever, that is for sure," BBC Sport quoted Potter after Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Tottenham on Sunday.

Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane scored in the second half for the hosts in the London Derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"I take full responsibility for those results, which is not good enough for Chelsea. We want to improve it."

"My job is to keep going and working with the team to try and change the moment. The players are hurting. It is a tough moment for us," he added.

After losing to Spurs, the Blues' chances of playing in the UEFA Champions League next are dreaded.

In 10th position, the West London side has 31 points, 14 points behind Spurs, who are on 45 points and occupy the final qualification place, fourth.

Potter's Blues have registered only two wins from their last 15 games in all competitions.
