Samuel Eto'o-led administration has appointed an interim management team just six weeks after Marc Brys was contracted.

West African giants Cameroon have sacked their head coach Marc Brys just six weeks after his appointment in the wake of a heated altercation between the Belgian and Fecafoot (Cameroon Football Federation) President Samuel Eto'o.

The Indomitable Lions have moved swiftly, replacing Brys with Martin Ndtoungou on an interim basis, ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The disagreement between the two parties was severe, with Eto'o delivering a stern warning to the Belgian coach.

"I'm the president, you don't talk to me like that. Do you think I can do that in Belgium? So how do you think you can do that in Cameroon?” Eto’o stated per a video on social media

Brys' appointment in April had been met with resistance from Eto'o, as the sports ministry had decided without any input from Fecafoot.

The new coach was accused of refusing to communicate training schedules and the final list of players for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers per an official statement by Fecafoot.

This latest development is a significant blow to Cameroon's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Indomitable Lions will now have to regroup under the guidance of Ndtoungou Mpile Martin as they look to navigate the challenging road ahead.
