Some of England’s top clubs are making transfer preparations ahead of a busy summer window and are reportedly sniffing around Strasbourg's French teenager Ismael Doukoure.
Ismael Doukoure is only 19 but he is quickly making a name for himself as one of the best young defenders in Ligue 1.
He is currently part of the France’s Under-20 squad in Marbella for a youth tournament against England, Netherlands and the United States.
Ismael Doukoure in high demand
According to 90min, several Premier League clubs are represented by scouts at the tournament, with Doukoure one of the standout players attracting huge interest.
Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham have reportedly all been following Doukoure since last year and are believed to be so impressed by what they've seen, that they are seriously considering making a move for him.
PSG are also believed to hold an interest in Doukoure which stems from his superb performance against them in December when he held his own in impressive fashion against Kylian Mbappe.
Doukoure's journey
Doukoure began his career with Valenciennes before being acquired by Strasbourg in January 2022. He is a versatile defender capable of playing in a variety of positions. Although he has primarily lined up at centre-back for this season, he is capable of playing at right-back and as a defensive midfielder.
Strasbourg have Doukoure contracted to the club until the summer of 2026, but their resolve may be tested this summer if a huge bid arrives for his services.
