Illan Meslier's appearance against Wolves broke an all-time Premier League record
Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who has been touted as a possible replacement for Manchester United’s David De Gea made Premier League history today with his appearance against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Meslier reaches Premier League milestone
Meslier, making his 26th appearance in the Premier League this season may not have been aware, but playing against Wolves made him the youngest player in history to reach 100 Premier League games.
At only 23 years and 16 days old, Meslier wrote his name into the Premier League history books with a century of appearances, a feat some players never get to achieve.
Meslier attracting interest from Manchestr United
Meslier has been a standout player for Leeds since he was promoted with them in the 2020/21 season and is widely revered as one of the best goalkeepers in the world with the ball at his feet.
He has played every game in the Premier League with Leeds in the past two seasons and is seen as one of the best goalkeeping talents on the market today.
It is no wonder that Manchester United have been snooping around, trying to see if Leeds will be tempted to sell their star goalkeeper as the Red Devils search for a less agricultural option for De Gea in goal.
