Southampton have reportedly told club captain James Ward-Prowse he will be allowed to leave in the summer if they are relegated.
Southampton sit bottom of the Premier League table having picked up just 23 points from 31 games and are four points from safety, with just one win in their last eight.
Southampton running out of time
With each passing week, relegation is looking more and more likely for the Saints and they ave reportedly started planning for life outside the top flight.
According to 90min, a number of key players, including Kyle Walker-Peters, Mohammed Salisu, Armel Bella-Kotchap, and Romeo Lavia - are expected to leave St. Mary's once relegation is confirmed.
Club captain and England international James Ward-Prowse is also expected to leave the club if they are relegated.

Ward-Prowse could leave Southampton
Ward-Prowse has been at Southampton since he was eight and will be deeply disappointed if they get relegated but there is reportedly an agreement in place with both parties.
The report has suggested that Southampton will demand around £50m for their club captain, who is the subject of interest from several top-flight sides.
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is a big fan of Ward-Prowse and would love to make a move for him under the right circumstances.
As the players' situation develops on the south coast, Newcastle are kept informed, although their summer business hinges on where they finish in the standings.
The Magpies currently sit fourth and are on course for Champions League qualification.
Unai Emery's Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be following the midfielder's situation as the season draws to a close.
The 28-year-old has scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists for Southampton this season as the Saints fight for PL survival.
