Rangers coach Abdul Maikaba is ready to walk away from the struggling Enugu club and Tornadoes will be looking to help make that happen when they clash this weekend.
Enugu Rangers will have it all to do when they take on Niger Tornadoes in Minna in a week four tie this Sunday.
This fixture is one of the games of the round across Groups A and B in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
The Flying Antelopes and their troubled boss, Abdul Maikaba, will once again put attempt to get out of relegation waters against one of the in-form teams so far this term.
Tornadoes vs Rangers: Ikon Allah will be licking their lips
Third-placed Tornadoes will welcome struggling club Enugu Rangers this Sunday confident of a win in Minna.
The Ikon Allah boys are desperate to bounce back to winning ways after dropping three points the last time to champions Rivers United.
Chidiebube Duru's superb free kick was the highlight of the day as it inspired the Pride of Rivers to a narrow 2-1 win over the Minna side.
Therefore, Tornadoes will now take out their anger on a vulnerable Rangers side that is in deep trouble in the league.
The Flying Antelopes find themselves in an unfamiliar zone after failing to win any of their first three matches.
Manager, Maikaba has offered to step aside following an ultimatum issued to the experienced gaffer by the club's management following a disappointing start to the new campaign.
"I may gladly accept to terminate my contract on mutual consent if really I am the problem of the club for the team to progress," Maikaba stated after the Antelopes dropped more points last weekend.
Form
The Ikon Allah will head into this game as favourites given their better form so far and overall.
Tornadoes have won four of the last five matches in the football league, keeping clean sheets in three of those games.
For Rangers, it's as bad as it looks with three defeats and a draw in that same period.
In terms of their away record, the Antelopes have also struggled to fly with seven consective defeats.
Key Stats
- The Flying Antelopes have lost nine of their last 10 matches on the road in the NPFL.
- Niger Tornadoes have kept a clean sheet in three of their last five matches at home.
Head-to-head
Despite their poor run, Rangers have the upper hand in this fixture with three wins compared to two for Tornadoes in the last nine matches between them.
The Ikon Allah will be looking to change that and improve their head-to-head when both sides clash this time.
