PSG's Luis Campos has denied that the club are on the brink of sacking manager Christophe Galtier
Paris Saint-Germain’s director of football, Luis Campos, has denied rumours that the club has decided to part ways with manager Christophe Galtier.
PSG director denies Galtier's exit
Galtier has spent one of the two agreed seasons as head coach of PSG, but it has been rumoured that he could be asked to step down from the role despite leading the team to Ligue 1 success.
The French coach oversaw a successful league campaign, but PSG were also knocked out of the UEFA Champions League and the Coupe de France, leading to notions that the season had been a failure.
Many have reported that Galtier’s time at PSG could be up based on this, but Luis Campos has denied the manager’s impending exit.
Galtier's future still up for debate
The PSG director was speaking after the club played the last match of the season and he was asked about Galtier’s future at the club.
He replied saying, “We haven’t made a decision, neither on the coach nor on the players.”
Despite Campos’ statements, rumours continue to circulate about Galtier’s future, with a number of managers already touted as replacements for the Frenchman.
Former Real Madrid and Barcelona managers Zinedine Zidane and Luis Enrique have been linked with a move to PSG, and only time will tell if Campos was sincere about his claims on Galtier.
