PSG defeat to Lyon makes it their worst start to a calendar year since 2001.
This past weekend, Paris Saint-Germain suffered a 1-0 defeat to Lyon at the Parc des Princes, and it became their second consecutive defeat at home after losing 2-0 to Rennes last week.
The loss is also their eighth in all competitions in 2023, including back-to-back defeats to Bayern Munich, which saw them get knocked out of the Champions League.
Worst start to a calendar year since 2001
The loss to Lyon was their eighth in all competitions in 2013, and according to Opta Jean, that is their worst start to a calendar year since 2001, when they lost nine.
Since the turn of the year, Les Parisiens have lost to Lens on New Year's Day, to Rennes in the league twice, to Bayern Munich in the Champions League twice, to Marseille in the Coupe de France, to Monaco in the league, and to Lyon most recently, making it eight defeats.
