Raja Casablanca, Mamelodi Sundowns and Esperance from Tunisia are the only teams that are still invisible in the CAF Champions League group stages.

The trio lead their respective groups as well as individual performances as regards match day two with six players featuring in the team of the week.

Mohamed Awad was nominated the goalkeeper of the day for saving Egyptian giants Zamalek from AL Merrikh’s marauding attacks in the match that ended goalless at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.

El Merreikh’s Alex Silva who was part of that match in Libya is among the four best defenders.

Algerian and Moroccan centre-backs Badreddine Souyad (JS Kabylie) and Ismail Mokadem (Raja Casablanca) stood out for keeping clean sheets as well as adding their names to the score sheet.

Souyad scored the only goal for JS Kabylie as they downed holders Wydad Casablanca in Algiers.

Mokadem converted a penalty for Raja Casablanca’s third goal in their 3-0 rout of Simba in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Hamza Khabba was listed among the two best strikers of the day after capping his efforts with the opener for Raja.
