Nice's Khephren Thuram who has attracted attention from Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool has had his season cut short by an injury that will keep him out until the summer
OGC Nice midfielder Khpehren Thuram has suffered a season-ending injury, with suitors Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool watching on with some apprehension.
Khephren Thuram headed for summer Nice exit
Khephren Thuram, who is the youngest son of legendary France and Juventus defender, Lilian Thuram and the brother of World Cup finalist and Borussia Monchengladbach winger Marcus Thuram, has been on the radar of a number of top clubs ahead of a busy summer transfer window.
The midfielder has turned in some impressive performances in the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season to put him on the radar of many of Europe’s top clubs interested in a move for the Nice man, who has been tipped for a huge future.
At only 22-years old, Thuram is seen as one of the top midfield prospects in the world at the moment and is expected to depart Ligue 1 this summer.
Thuram could have played his last game for Nice
Suppose Thuram does depart Ligue 1 in the summer. In that case, then he has already played his final match in the league for the foreseeable future after having his current season cut short by an unfortunate injury.
Nice manager Didier Digard confirmed his pre-match press conference ahead of Les Agions’ fixture against Toulouse that Thuram will play no further part in the current season after picking up a hamstring injury that will keep him out for a few weeks.
“There is a good chance that his very long season will be over a little faster than it should have been,” Digard said, continuing, “At some point, I have to think about the player and give him a breather. I didn’t and I blame myself for it.”
Before the injury, Thuram had been a mainstay in the Nice side, playing 48 matches for the Ligue 1 side in all competitions.
If he departs the club in the summer as expected, he will be hard to replace for Nice who are hoping to receive at least €60 million from his transfer.
