Real Madrid showed their high-scoring affair against Real Valladolid was not opponent dependent, as they ran riot against Barcelona, beating them 4-0.
The Los Blancos suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Bernabeu in the first-leg, but in this game at the Camp Nou, they did more than just overturn the tie; they embarrassed their biggest rivals in front of their own fans, dumped them out the Copa del Rey and advanced to the final.
How it happened
Barcelona started effervescently and threatened to continue their good run of results against Real Madrid, but they failed to get the early goal.
Carlo Ancelotti's side looked threatening in transitions, with Vinicius having more joy against Ronald Araujo than in recent times, but the final ball was lacking.
Barcelona controlled the game, but not overwhelmingly; however, Real Madrid scored the opener just before half-time after a devastating counter-attack finished off by Vinicius.
