After a brief spell, he was sold to AC Milan. The full-back has since risen to become one of the best players in his position; hence, the LALIGA champions have been linked with a sensational return for him.
The details
With Ferland Mendy’s incessant injury problems and offensive limitations, and Fran Garcia failing to impress, Real Madrid entered the market for a new left-back.
They initially had Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies as the primary target and were planning to bring him in as they did Alaba: a free-agent signing.
However, the Bavarians seem to be making headway in negotiations with the Canada international. Also, Davies’s financial demands caused the negotiations with Real Madrid to stall.
According to Fichajes, Los Blancos are now evaluating other targets and are said to have identified Theo Hernandez, who has a €65 million price tag.
The France international’s contract expires in 2026. Interest from Real Madrid could compel the Rossoneri to sell him next summer when he would have only one year left on his deal.
