Real Madrid are reportedly ready to shatter the club's transfer record to bring in 24-year old PSG forward
Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move away from the club. The 24-year-old was expected to join Real Madrid at the start of the season, but he ended up signing a contract extension with the French club.
Real Madrid willing to break record for Mbappe
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the La Liga club is willing to spend a billion euros on him. That would include his transfer fee, his salary, commissions, and his image rights. 630 million euros would be his salary for the next four seasons, the transfer fee would be 150 million plus the transfer bonus and commissions.
With Karim Benzema now 35, it makes sense for Real Madrid to go all out for one of the biggest stars in football. Mbappe has shown a desire to join Madrid in the past and there could be a chance if PSG are willing to negotiate his departure.
Mbappe on the move?
Mbappe has been linked with a move away from PSG for at least a year, the senior figures at the club have come out to dispel the rumours on more than one occasion. It is difficult to see PSG sanction a sale next summer but the outcome of these latest reports remains to be seen.
The 24-year-old won the Golden boot during the World Cup in Qatar, including a stunning hat-trick in the final but he failed to guide his country to the trophy. France reached the finals of the competition but lost to Argentina on penalties.
