After LaLiga president Javier Tebas suggested that someone at Real Madrid had "lost their head" over officiating complaints, Ancelotti hit back, insisting Los Blancos are simply seeking transparency.
Ancelotti responds to Tebas’ criticism
Ancelotti addressed the controversy in his pre-match press conference, dismissing Tebas' remarks and defending Real Madrid’s decision to request explanations regarding key refereeing decisions.

"I wouldn’t like to touch on this topic before such an important match," Ancelotti said adding, "Tebas can rest assured, no one here has lost their mind. Only an explanation has been requested.
“To change a system that, from what I hear, no one is happy with. They say that the system favours Madrid, but when Madrid wants to change it, they reject it. That surprises me a bit."

Real Madrid’s frustration stems from a recent incident involving Carlos Romero’s challenge on Kylian Mbappe, which did not result in a red card. The club requested access to the VAR audio from the decision, but their request has been ignored.
"We have not received anything," Ancelotti confirmed. "I don’t know why they don’t want to send them to us. You’ll have to ask them."
Real Madrid denies pressuring referees
The controversy escalated after Atletico Madrid accused Real Madrid of influencing referees through their club TV channel and media presence.
Los Colchoneros claimed that Real Madrid TV regularly releases reports criticising referees before matches to influence officiating decisions.
Ancelotti refuted the allegations, stating, "I’m not aware of that. Real Madrid wants to change a system that it doesn’t like."

Despite Ancelotti’s response, Real Madrid’s official letter to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) goes beyond just requesting explanations.
The club has accused the refereeing system of being corrupt and deliberately working against them, a claim that has sparked backlash across Spain.
