Manchester United made it back-to-back Premier League wins with a routine 2-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford.
Scott McTominay opened the scoring in the first half and substitute, Anthony Martial, came off the bench to score a second and seal all three points for Erik ten Hag's men.
How it happened
Manchester United began the game in dominant fashion, looking the exploit the pace of Marcus Rashford who was once again operating as a central striker.
Ten Hag's men had a total of 21 shots on goal in the first half, a league record for any half this season, however, the opening goal did not come until the 35th minute, with the dominance finally paying off.
Jadon Sancho, showing plenty of confidence, played a fine pass through the Everton defence to release Scott McTominay, who continued his impressive goalscoring form by finishing expertly from a tight angle.
Second half
Sean Dyche’s men came out in the second half looking to find a way back into the game and they applied pressure on United's defence without ever really testing David de Gea.
As Everton committed more men forward it played perfectly into the hands of United, who looked increasingly dangerous on the counterattack.
The home side eventually doubled the lead with 20 minutes remaining after Everton captain Seamus Coleman failed to control a long ball, allowing Rashford to pounce and square the ball for Anthony Martial to score a simple goal.
A disappointing defeat for Everton who are 16th in the Premier League standings and must now nervously look over their shoulders.
