The talented academy graduate had his 'Garnacho moment' in the NPFL for the Ikenne-based team.

Remo Stars midfielder Oluwaseun Odunsi is living the dream after making his debut for the club in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

Odunsi came off the bench to inspire Remo to a comfortable 2-0 win over El-Kanemi Warriors during their 2023 NPFL opener on Sunday.

He was one of three players that were promoted from the club's academy, Beyond Limits, earlier this month, putting pen to paper on his first professional contract.

It was a day to remember for Seun Odunsi as he made his debut for Remo Stars.

The young midfielder needed just seven minutes to leave a lasting impression after he sealed his competitive debut with an excellent assist.

Odunsi evaded four El-Kanemi players before setting up Edidiong Ezekiel, who made no mistakes from close range for his first goal for Remo Stars.

Seun happy to make his debut

After the game, the visibly excited young midfielder, who was promoted before the season kicked off, took to his social media page to celebrate.

Speaking through his official Twitter page, Odunsi expressed happiness with his debut and to have picked up an assist, too.

Odunsi signed his first professional contract with Remo on January 5, 2023.

"Big steps, Big dreams," his tweet stated. (i am) glad to have made my league debut for Remo Stars (and) much happier to have capped it with an assist."

"I appreciate the love and support #Skybluestars,'' he concluded.

Remo off to a flyer

It was business as usual for the brilliantly-run club in the NPFL following a winning start to the 2023 season.

Two goals in either half from Samuel Anakwe and Edidiong Ezekiel, who netted his competitive debut goal for the club, propelled the Sky Blues to a comfortable 2-0 win over the newly promoted side.
