The Rossoneri are rumoured to be interested in a former Chelsea striker to strengthen their attack.

AC Milan have been linked with a move for former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham to add firepower to Paulo Fonseca’s frontline.

Abraham joined Roma in the summer of 2021 but a serious knee injury sustained in June 2023 has stalled his progress at the capital club.

The forward did not feature for the Giallorossi until the second half of the previous campaign, missing around nine months of 2023-24 before coming off the bench in the Rome derby at the start of April.

Why are Milan interested in Abraham?

Abraham’s lengthy absence has not stopped Milan from enquiring about his availability, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano disclosing the Rossoneri’s interest.

With Olivier Giroud departing San Siro after three seasons, last season's Serie A runners-up are exploring their options in the market, and the England international is under consideration.

The 26-year-old has netted 26 goals in 86 appearances, notably notching 17 goals in 37 appearances (27 goals in 53 in all competitions) in year one but he has not hit those lofty heights in year two and was mostly absent in his third season at the Olimpico.

According to Romano, the Milan club want three strikers next season, with Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata also on their shortlist.

What comes next?

Abraham, absent from England’s Euro 2024 campaign, is back in pre-season training with Daniele De Rossi’s men but the striker could depart before the start of the 2024-25 season if Milan reach an agreement with the capital club.
