Nigeria's Samuel Chukwueze could be inline for his first start for AC Milan in this week's UEFA Champions League

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze could finally get to feature from the start for new club AC Milan and in the UEFA Champions League no less.

Chukwueze yet to make first AC Milan start

Chukwueze joined the Rossoneri from Villarreal in the summer after an excellent season with the Yellow Submarine but is yet to get proper game time after failing to start any of the opening four matches of the new Serie A season.

The Super Eagles forward, who was signed in a €28 million deal has only played up to 30 minutes in a match on one occasion, the humiliating Derby Della Madonnina loss to cross-town rivals Inter, where he played 34 minutes.

This could be set to change as reports suggest that AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has been shell-shocked into making some tough decisions after the 5-1 loss to Inter.

Chukwueze in line for UCL start

According to Sky Sport Italia, Chukwueze could be handed a starting berth in the Rossoneri’s first UEFA Champions League game of the season against Newcastle, where they will face former hero Sandro Tonali.

If the reports are correct, Chukwueze will be taking the place of American winger Christian Pulisic, who he has replaced in three of his four substitute appearances.

Pulisic hit the ground running for AC Milan, scoring two goals in his first two Serie A games, but has been flat in the last two fixtures, meaning a change could be in store to liven up the Rossoneri’s right-wing against Newcastle.
