The Ilorin club are said to have approached former Wikki Tourists coach, on the same day Abdulazeez Mohammed announced his resignation.
Kwara United are reportedly on the verge of announcing former Wikki Tourist manager Kabiru Dogo, as the club's replacement for resigned Abdulazeez Mohammed.
Mohammed left his position as first-team coach of the struggling NPFL side following his team’s 2-0 loss to Nasarawa United on Saturday.
Prior to their 2-0 defeat, Kwara United were on a losing streak of two games, winning just once in their seven matches this season.
Kwara United edging closer to bringing Dogo
According to reports on Saturday night, and barely hours after their defeat in Jos, the Harmony Boys are intent on preventing a vacuum in the club's technical department before their next league game.
Former coach Mohammed had stated upon his resignation that, “the potentials are there for us to do well, but, unfortunately, things are going the wrong way."
Kwara United have now reportedly reached out to Dogo, who was the first manager to leave his position in the 2023 NPFL season.
Dogo on his part, resigned from his position at Wikki Tourists in January, after repeatedly stating that he was not the problem behind the club's misfortunes.
Kwara United to play Remo Stars next
Following Saturday's defeat in Jos, Kwara United currently sit in 8th place in Group A, just one point off relegation places, and could drop into the zone when other fixtures are played on Sunday.
Under Mohammed, they scored only twice in seven matches, winning only one game, drawing two and losing the other four.
Should Dogo come in as Kwara United's new coach, his first task will be against Remo Stars who they'll place in a week 8 midweek encounter.
