Victor Osimhen is reportedly set to extend his Napoli contract despite being frozen out by the club.
In a shocking turn of events, Victor Osimhen is reportedly set to extend his Napoli contract for one more season to facilitate a loan move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
The 25-year-old’s relationship with the Napoli hierarchy has broken down after a tumultuous summer transfer saga in which he failed to land a desired move away from the club and was subsequently frozen out of the squad. The release clause worked into his deal during his last contract extension was one of the factors that hindered an exit, but he is set to put pen to paper for fresh terms.

Osimhen set for Galatasaray move
Pulse Sports reported that the Super Eagles ace is nearing a move to the Turkish Super Lig, having reached an agreement on personal terms with the player.
Galatasaray have also gotten the approval of Napoli and will cover the player's wages for the duration of the one-season dry loan.
The deal is said to be in its final stages and will be announced after some of the finer details are ironed out and the player completes his medical.
Osimhen to sign extension
One of the points of agreement that have to be reached before the loan move is completed is the signing of a contract extension, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio.
Napoli's relationship with the player might have broken down, but they still plan to make decent money from his sale. Given that his contract will remain for only one year at the end of the imminent loan deal, the Partenopei want to extend his contract for one more season to protect his value.
