"The loan has a clause that allows KCCA FC to revoke and have him return after the first round of the 2023/24 season," the club said at the time of the transfer in August.

Following an impressive first round at seven-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC, talented midfielder Emmanuel Wasswa is set to be recalled from loan by parent club KCCA FC.

The latter sent the versatile midfielder on loan to the Red Eagles with an option for termination at the of the first round.

"The loan has a clause that allows KCCA FC to revoke and have him return after the first round of the 2023/24 season," the club said at the time of the transfer in August.

Over four months since completing the temporary move to Wankulukuku, Wasswa has rediscovered his best form, having struggled at KCCA last season.

With Express, he has scored four goals in 13 matches from the middle of the park, impressing his bosses in Lugogo, which has prompted a reported pending recall.

KCCA has struggled for consistent performances from their midfielders, with the exception of Ashraf Mugume and Joel Sserunjogi in recent matches.

At some point, head coach Abdallah Mubiru was forced to deploy defender Peter Magambo in midfield in search of balance.

Given his form, Wasswa would come in as a new signing as they battle their way to the top positions.

Should it come to pass, it would be a proper blow for Express, who have looked at home with Wasswa in midfield, along with Ramz Kawooya.
