“He was one of the teammates who impressed me the most on the field, injuries did not allow him to have the career he deserved, he could have aimed for the Ballon d’Or.”

Pogba's Untapped Potential

Marchisio reminisced on Pogba's time at Juventus, describing him as one of the most impressive teammates on the pitch. The Italian legend lamented that due to persistent injuries, Pogba fell short of achieving the greatness he was destined for, even suggesting that he could have contended for the illustrious Ballon d’Or title.

The narrative pivoted around the pivotal moment when Pogba returned to Manchester United in 2016, a move that Marchisio believes hindered rather than facilitated his growth as a footballer.

“I think it was a mistake to return to United. It didn’t help his development.”
