The shot-stopper is pondering his next move but says priority will be given to KCCA FC because he is still the club captain, remembering a return to continental football with a new look technical bench.
At the end of every football league season, reality checks and self-evaluation for players and clubs become the norm, with lots to ponder on, especially for free agents who have to decide on their future.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan finds himself in that situation, with his current contract at KCCA FC due this month.
The shot-stopper is pondering his next move but says priority will be given to KCCA FC because he is still the club captain, remembering a return to continental football as the Kasasiro boys are set to play in the CAF Confederatio Cup with a new look technical bench.
"I am club captain, so they (KCCA FC) have the priority; it's also great that the club is returning to the continent because it will be an exciting experience," Ochan told Pulse Sports.
"Hopefully, we have the experience on the team because it's key on the continent," he added.
In 2017 Ochan's heroics in goal earned KCCA FC a first-ever CAF Confederation Cup group stage ticket; he saved two spot kicks and scored the winning penalty to eliminate Egypt's Al Masry.
Loss of Mother and a tough season
The 33-year-old also highlights a tough season he and the club endured, especially when he lost his dear mother.
"It was a tough season for all of us, especially towards the end, but personally, the loss of my dear mother made it tougher because I had rejoined KCCA FC purposely to be close and look after her," Ochan noted.

REPORTS KCCA to bring back two faces as part of new technical staff
Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions, KCCA FC are not messing around as far as moulding their new-look technical staff, as part of the team's renaissance.
"So, I wasn't settled per se, and I didn't give my best version, but after everything happened (may her soul rest in peace), I recollected myself, and I feel better now as I look forward to the new campaign," he added.
The Uganda Cranes international, who says he is now calmer in goal, will be hoping his future is sorted soonest as he prepares for the new campaign either at KCCA FC for a third stint or elsewhere.
