The tax collectors have raided Express FC and snapped up two players in goalkeeper Denis Otim and midfielder Ivan Mayanja who have both penned two-year contracts, Pulse Sports can confirm.

Four-time Uganda Premier League champions URA FC like usual around this time of the year, are back at it, signing players.

The tax collectors have raided Express FC and snapped up two players in goalkeeper Denis Otim and midfielder Ivan Mayanja who have both penned two-year contracts, Pulse Sports can confirm.

The duo has already signed their contracts and are awaiting their unveiling at the club.

Otim is expected to fill the void of club captain Nafian Alionz who is yet to renew his contract, which runs down at the end of June, and other reports indicate he could be on his way out.

Otim joined the Red Eagles from Mbarara City FC in 2020, going on to win the CECAFA Kagame Cup and StarTimes Uganda Premier League in the same season, playing second fiddle to Mathias Muwanga.

However, his three clean sheets for the Red Eagles as they reached the semifinals of the 2022 Stanbic Uganda Cup before they lost 1-0 to eventual runners-up BUL FC can't go unnoticed.

Otim then became the first choice for the 2022/23 season after Muwanga's departure, but Express FC's financial struggles affected the team's performance, including last season.

Midfielder Ivan Mayanja was also part of the Express FC side that won the CECAFA Kagame Cup and the StarTimes Uganda Premier League but struggled with injuries last season.

The 23-year-old will now be expected to provide support offensively to Sam Timbe's side next season.

The tax collectors who finished fifth last season will be hoping to win their first league title for the first time since 2011 next season.
