The APR FC – Uganda Love Affair

Twelve years ago, before the ban, several high-profile Ugandan players featured for APR FC, who had better remunerations than other leagues in the region.
Hassan Mubiru (2005)

He led the Lions to the Rwandan league title and the finals of the CECAFA Kagame Cup, where they lost 3-0 to SC Villa; he returned to Express FC in 2006.
James Odoch (2004/2005, 2005/2006)

But was later dropped for absconding from duty before he joined Thanh Hoa in Vietnam in 2007.
Abubakar Tabula
The former Uganda Cranes left-back controversially left KCCA FC alongside Noah Kasule Babadi to join APR and featured for two seasons, between 2007 and 2009, winning two league titles with the side.
Other notable Ugandan faces include former SC Villa winger Phillip Ssozi, Vincent Kayizzi, Fred Okello, Almansi Kadogo, Dan Wagaluka, the late Johnson Bagoole and most recently, in 2013, Habib Kavuma.
Charles Tibingana Pooje, Denis Rukundo and Andrew Buteera who were all born in Uganda but are of Rwanda decent also featured for APR FC.
